Fraud hits Southwest Florida hard

Consumers lost more than $1.7 billion last year in frauds reported to the Federal Trade Commission, and Charlotte County was one of the hardest hit regions in the nation.
Charlotte ranked seventh among major metropolitan areas for fraud complaints filed with the FTC in 2010.
